The altered files in the Data3.pak file are used over the vanilla files in the Data0.pak file. This Data3.pak file is then used or shared for others to also have the changes in their game or in order to play co-op with those changes present. A modder takes a copy of one or more files from the Data0.pak file, alters them, then places them into the Data3.pak file. Vanilla game files generally exist in the '.Dying Light\DW\Data0.pak' file (some DLC files exist in their separate DataDLC#_#.pak files in their respective DLC folders). You will likely need to add the "restclient.scr" file to your Data3.pak file edited to disable the game's PLS system which forces unaltered versions of skills files to be used over modified versions present in your Data3.pak file. ![]()
